B3 Brown Patch Sheepskin Leather Jacket

Having a jacket was essential for Allied crews. It was first made available by the Army Air Corps in 1934, specifically for open-cockpit flying. The pilots and aircrew had to work in subfreezing conditions, so this jacket turned out to be the warmest in the world! This sheepskin coat became well-known thanks to the B17 Flying Fortress crews and gunners. As the plane soared higher and faster, the temperatures dropped. And this cozy jacket saved the day!
