B3 Brown Patch Sheepskin Leather Jacket

Having a jacket was essential for Allied crews. It was first made available by the Army Air Corps in 1934, specifically for open cockpit flying. The pilots and air crew had to work in subfreezing conditions, so this jacket turned out to be the warmest in the world! This sheepskin coat became well-known thanks to the B17 Flying Fortress crews and gunners. As the plane soared higher and faster, the temperatures dropped. And this cozy jacket saved the day!
